Organic Electronics (CHG4359A - SELECTED TOPICS II)

The course will give an overview of organic electronic and optoelectronic devices, from design to fabrication and application. The students will learn the design, the fabrication and the operation of emerging organic electronic technologies such as organic photovoltaic (OPV) devices, organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) and organic thin film transistors (OTFTs).
The course will expand and teach elements of applied organic/polymer chemistry, materials engineering and physical chemistry. Such topics include molecular/property relationships, vacuum operation, polymer processing, photo physics such as absorption and emission of light in the context of organic electronics, excited states, radiative and non-radiative transitions as well as intermolecular charge transport mechanisms.
