Lessard Research Group - Next Generation Materials for Next Generation Applications

Call for New MASc and PhD Students in the design and synthesis of new materials!

The Lessard Research Group at the University of Ottawa in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering is looking for new MASc (or Ph.D) students! Research projects include the development of new polymer materials for various projects including membranes for Fuel Cell applications and active layers in organic electronic devices, such as organic photovoltaic devices and organic transistor-based sensors. The student will synthesize various novel polymers with ranging properties using Nitroxide Mediated Polymerization. Promising materials will be incorporated into prototypical devices and characterized. Applicants must be hard working and motivated. A strong organic chemistry or materials science background would be desirable but not mandatory. The expected start date would be January 1st 2016 or May 1st 2016, however start date is negotiable. If you are interested please contact Prof. Benoit Lessard at benoit.lessard@uottawa.ca.
